Hi

Would anyone be interested in participating if I revive this community?

If so, are there any changes to the way things are done that you would like to see? I'm thinking particularly about the participation schedule, but is there anything else?

As a reminder:

- challenges are posted weekly, and consist (in standard form, there are sometimes variations) of a single picture to be made into one or two icons only. Posting of challenges is on Saturday morning (my time) and voting is Sunday-Monday.

- subjects will vary from celebrities to snails to scenic views, etc, anything I can think of. Any suggestions as to where I can obtain more and more varied source material would be very welcome.

- voting is done in comments, in order of preference. First round of voting - all votes are equal. If there is a tie, order of preference is used to determine order of banners. I try to avoid ties if possible.

I really like this community, but I'm not always "grabbed" or inspired by the seed image, and when I am, I don't always have time to work on projects-- I have a very active 2 year old. Sadly, the last few rounds you posted, I did have the time but couldn't think of anything creative to do with the images. Alas! This is a flaw entirely on my end, btw, I'm not trying to place blame.

I really like the community, I like the challenges, I like the limit on icon submissions, and I like the way you handle voting. I especially like the walk-throughs that the winners post.

I'm sorry I have nothing really productive to add, no great suggestions or anything.

That sounds like a good idea.

Maybe you could also have a 2-part challenge, where the first part of the challenge is to provide an image and the second part is to provide an icon, banner, texture, whatever else? Maybe with bonus points if they incorporate the runner-up base image somehow? Or something?
