As explained in Challenge #107, I won't be around to do the regular weekly challenge for a little while, so you're getting extra.

The challenge is to make a set of eight textures from the picture. You may enter as many sets as you wish, but each set must be made from only one of the source pictures - no mixing within the eight, please. Paste your textures into this template, and save it as a single document to submit as an entry. And, just in case there's any doubt, please make it clear whether your entry is for the Ruins or the Jewelry set.

To create your textures, you can use any of the effects—filters, gradients, blend modes etc—that come with your graphics program, and I don't see any reason why you can't use brushes if you want them, but only the default brushes, please, or brushes you make from the provided images. No other images beyond the ones provided, though, and don't incorporate any textures made by anyone else.
As usual, if you win you'll need to write a tutorial on what you did, so keep notes!
If anyone ends up making a bigger-than-eight set of textures and would like to share, I'll be happy to put up a post with links to wherever you have made them available after the voting.
I will post the voting on Sunday 21st November. Please consider that Saturday 20th, midnight your time, is the deadline for entries (though you can get away with later as long as your comment is here when I get to my computer on Sunday morning).
If you've any questions, I'll be available for a couple of days yet so do ask.
Meanwhile you still have until midnight tonight to enter Challenge #106.
